Security, explained

Is it safe to connect my bank account?

Yes.

Wingman uses Australia's Open Banking framework to securely connect your financial accounts. Data is protected using industry-standard encryption technologies, including 2048-bit encryption and secure transport protocols, helping ensure your information remains protected both in transit and at rest.

We never see or store your internet banking passwords, and we cannot move money or perform transactions on your behalf.

Can Wingman access my money?

No.

Wingman is a read-only platform. We can help you understand your money, but we can never move it.

Wingman cannot make payments, transfer funds, withdraw money or access your banking credentials. We simply use the data you've authorised us to share in order to provide insights and tracking tools.

Do you store my bank login details?

No.

Wingman never sees or stores your internet banking usernames or passwords.

When you connect an account, you authenticate directly with your financial institution through Open Banking, meaning your credentials remain between you and your bank.

Can I disconnect my accounts?

Absolutely.

You can manage connected accounts and withdraw your consent at any time. Once disconnected, Wingman will stop receiving updated information from those accounts, giving you complete control over your data.

What is Open Banking?

Open Banking is a government-regulated framework that allows you to securely share financial data with trusted providers like Wingman.

Instead of sharing passwords, your bank sends authorised data through secure encrypted connections. This gives you greater control over your information while maintaining a high level of security and privacy.
